Thankful Thursday: When Wallflowers Dance

This week I am thankful
that I joined the
woman's bible study
at my church.

We are doing
by Angela Thomas.
I cannot relate to all the parts of the lessons,
but some have really spoken to me.
I am so thankful
to have carved out this time
for myself and for Him!

Forgetting the Before: Over Washer

We have some pretty nice cabinets over our washer and dryer. However, "things" have just been thrown in there with no real rhyme or reason...UNTIL NOW!

Top Shelf: the red box has candles that get changed with the seasons{this used to have a home in my closet but that didn't really make sense...this does!}  and the bag has supplies (extra treats, collars, bowls for travel, etc) for my sweet Howey {our toy poodle}.
Bottom Shelf: laundry supplies {I was recently excited to find the detergent drops bc the liquid detergent always seems to leak on the shelf}, emergency sewing kit, measuring tape, and loose change collector.
And my cute new sign: " Life is like laundry, LOADS of FUN!"

Tasty Tuesday: Nacho Sista's

I love food.
I love to eat it,
I love to cook it
(especially if it is easy).

We call this one "Nacho Sista's Bake"
but really it is a Velvetta Recipe
I pretty much follow the recipe as is...
though I don't always use the brands
they suggest and I do add more cheese!
{Note: If you plan to have leftovers,
only add chips to the section you will eat now.}
YUM.

Muffin Tin Monday: Outside

SBJ loves to be outside.
Unfortunately it is already like 500degrees and the gnats are awful.
He had a Muffin Tin Lunch
full of "things" you would find outside:
PB&J Butterflies
"Dirt and Worms" Pudding
Grape "rocks"
Cheese "sand" and Cheetos "sticks"

Forgetting the Before: Under the Sink (kitchen)

Whew. I had so much "shtuff" under our kitchen sink that we didn't use/didn't need OR that would be better somewhere else...I almost wish I had a before to show yall on this one!
All we have left (all we really need) is a small trash can, dishwasher drops, plastic bags, and my latest addition: an over the door holder for soap and lotion. {I really, really disliked having it on the counter!}

Tasty Tuesday: Fruity

Mmmmm...
I love a "fruity drink,"
especially Sangria.
Yum.
We recently made it
with a new
Sweet Red
delish.
Our very precise recipe:
Chop some fruit, place in pitcher,
sprinkle some sugar over fruit,
pour some brandy over all,
stir and let sit for a while.
Pour 1 bottle red wine over, stir.
ENJOY!

Now I am looking for a yummy
White Sangria recipe!
...anyone have one to share?

Simple Saturday: Dirty Little Secret

I have a dirty little secret:
I HATE TO CLEAN.
ugh.
 I would much rather
spend my time
playing,
cooking,
shopping,
reading,
teaching,
you name it...
just NOT cleaning!

Forgetting the Before: Medicine and First Aid

Organizing our medicine drawer and first aid kit has been on my list for awhile...then I read this post on IHeart Organizing a few months ago. Soooooo, organizing the drawer became purging our medicine, creating a first aid kit, and finding a new home for them.

If you remember last week, I posted about our newly organized coat closet. The majority of our medicine and our first aid kit was moved to the top shelf.

In the picture above, the box on the left is first aid supplies, the middle box is baby medicine, and the right box is adult medicine.

We also have a few more-often-used-bottles (ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and allergy relief) in a kitchen cabinet.

I was able to find boxes around the house to use for all of them...so yay- I didn't have to buy any new ones!

Thankful Thursday: Kid-less

"YAY!"
for mommy pool play dates!
Don't get me wrong,
I have fun going to the pool
with SBJ.
But, yesterday
a friend and I went to the pool
kid-less!
It was wonderful...
We just enjoyed the sun,
a relaxing swim,
a good book,
and
 uninterrupted adult conversation!

Tasty Tuesday: WOW!

Words cannot describe
the INSANE goodness of these cookies.
So I will not try...
 That's right folks...
OREO STUFFED CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 sticks (1 cup) softened butter
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon pure vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 oz bag chocolate chips
1 pkg. Oreo cookies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cream butter and sugars together with a mixer until well combined.  Beat in eggs and vanilla.
In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda.  Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined.  Using a cookie scoop take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo Cookie.  Take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo cookie.  Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is enclosed with dough.  Place onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet and bake cookies 9-13 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

Forgetting the Before: Coat Closet

I am mostly finished with our coat closet...enough to share.

So...let's start with what I like about the new, organized closet:
~ I made use of the empty space under our coats for our winter comforter in a storage box, extra sheets and blankets in a plastic storage drawer, and our shoes in a plastic bin on top.
~ We have too many jackets. I did get rid of a few, so that helped make some room.
~ SBJ's umbrella stroller is stored on the side of the closet.
~ My MOPs bag, current purse, and Howey's leash are stored on the over-the-door hooks.
~ On the top shelf I have our medicine (more on that next Friday), a battery-powered lantern, and a box of cleaning supplies.

Speaking of the top shelf! That is that last part of the closet I am hoping to improve. There is SO much empty space up there, what a waste! I am hoping that my dad will build us another shelf up there for more storage space! I will let you know when we get a chance to do that.
The other part of the closet that I still want to improve is the hangers! Remember this Want it Wednesday? Well, I still want to switch out all of our hangers!

Want it Wednesday: GOT IT!

So, I have been talking for awhile
about wanting some
COWBOY BOOTS.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeell!
My wonderful hubs was in Texas
a few weeks ago
and BOUGHT ME SOME!
woowoo!
I am so excited.
{Except I cant wear them now bc my feet are so HOT}

I was wearing them around the house the other day
and SBJ wanted to put his boots on too...
his SNOW boots! Silly boy!
